Dexter Hits the Shore — A Maltipoo's First Day at Dog Beach

Some dogs are born for the beach. Dexter just didn't know it yet.

Today we met Taylor and her boyfriend Gary at Huntington Beach Dog Beach — two teachers, a baby boy on the way, and one very fluffy one-year-old Maltipoo experiencing the Pacific Ocean for the very first time. Dexter is white, perfectly groomed, and approximately 100% convinced that every ball on the beach belongs to him.

His first reaction to the waves? Pure chaos energy. The kind of wide-eyed, ears-back, paws-flying enthusiasm that only a dog on their first beach day can deliver. Taylor laughed watching him. Gary laughed watching Taylor. It was that kind of morning.

When he's not patrolling the shoreline Dexter can be found at Bark Park in Costa Mesa living his best social life — or at home eating everything that isn't nailed down. A true California dog in every sense.

With a little brother arriving in a few months Dexter has no idea his whole world is about to change. But something tells us he'll handle it the same way he handled those waves today — full speed, no hesitation, total joy.
